1. Why a Chicago-Area Division III Football Team Will Open Season in Arizona

by Richard Obert, Arizona Republic
“It started in 2007 when Chandler Basha tight end Steven Yena became the first Arizona player to commit to the Division III college football team from the Chicago area.
Now, 18 years later, Lake Forest College coach Jim Catanzaro is bringing 53 former Arizona high school players on his roster to Chandler to open its football season against California's Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. at Hamilton High.
It is the first NCAA game between two Division III teams that will be held in Arizona. And it's a home game for Lake Forest, since the Midwest school has so many former Arizona high school players on the roster.”
