1. Give Me Liberty in MLX Final

It will be an All-Liberty League final when RIT squares off against Union for the NCAA Division III men's lacrosse championship on Sunday in Connecticut.

The Tigers (21-1) scored 16 goals in the first half alone on their way to a 26-15 victory over Tufts (19-3) in one semifinal. Luke Pilcher scored seven goals and assisted on two others, while Clifford Gaston also tallied seven goals for the victors.

Union (18-2) jumped out to a 6-0 lead and made it stand up in an 11-8 triumph against York, Pa. (20-3) in the other semi. Dan Donahue made 16 saves in the cage for the Flying Dutchmen who will make their first-ever NCAA final appearance.

RIT defeated Union, 14-13, at home back on April 9. The Tigers have defeated the Flying Dutchmen 20 straight times dating to 2008.

LACROSSE (W)

2.  Set for Salem


The women's lacrosse team beat W&L 8-4 in the NCAA quarterfinals.
It was a great day for the home teams as the four hosts for the regional finals came away victorious to advance to the national semifinals.

Middlebury d. Colby, 12-2

  • In an all-NESCAC quarterfinal, the Panthers (20-1) got four goals from Hope Shue while holding the Mules (16-4) to just 18 shots.
Gettysburg d. Washington and Lee, 8-4TCNJ d. Salisbury, 14-11Tufts vs. Franklin & Marshall, 14-9
It will be Middlebury vs. Gettysburg and TCNJ vs. Tufts in the national semifinals on Saturday in Salem, Va.

    Sixteen spots have been earned into the super-regional round of the NCAA Division III baseball championship tournament.

    La Grange, a sentimental favorite after the tragic loss of two players in an accident last weekend, advanced with a three-game sweep of Centenary (La.).

    6.  Championship Field Announced


    The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee announced today the participants in the 2022 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

    For each men’s individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women’s individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.

    The championships will be held May 26-28 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
